Questions, answered
Everything about the hardware, the installation, the software and the support. If yours is not here, write to us.
Do you supply and install the hardware?
Yes. One team surveys your site, supplies and installs the turnstiles, barriers, controllers and readers, configures the software, and supports it after. You deal with us for all of it, not a chain of separate vendors.
Can we buy the software without the hardware?
Yes. If you already have controllers, NextPass runs as standalone software. Access control connects to your existing hardware and you get the full platform: access, live monitoring, attendance and reports.
Does it work with our existing door controllers?
In most cases, yes. NextPass registers your controllers and the access control service keeps them in sync. Access changes become controller commands automatically, and failed commands are surfaced per controller for a quick fix.
Do we need a developer to run it?
No. Your own team configures it once and runs it day to day. The workflow follows access and attendance in the order they actually happen, so there is nothing to script and nothing to maintain.
How is attendance calculated?
A nightly job pairs entries and exits, computes worked hours, overtime and total time on campus, and excludes holidays and leave days automatically. You can fix a missed entry by hand when needed.
Can we control who sees what?
Yes. Role-based logins for Administrator, HR and Security are built from 40+ granular permissions, with per-user overrides on top of any role. Every create, update and delete is logged.
Can we import our current staff list?
Import everyone from one Excel or CSV file. NextPass de-duplicates by ID and assigns access groups and doors automatically, then you issue cards, fingerprints or car stickers from each profile.
Where is the data stored, in the cloud or locally?
In the cloud or on your own servers, your choice. In the cloud, data is backed up automatically, updates arrive on their own and the platform opens from anywhere, with no server to maintain. On-premise stays available for sites whose internal rules require it.
Do we need our own server to run it?
No, not for the cloud version. NextPass runs in the cloud with no extra hardware in your office, with automatic backups and updates included. If you prefer everything inside your own network, the same system installs on-premise.
